This June, Disney's California Adventure's former Sunshine Plaza opened its newly themed land - Buena Vista Street - Though named for the real-life Burbank thoroughfare that the Walt Disney Studios sits on, the central plaza represents Los Angeles in the 1920s, when Walt Disney first arrived there. I just have fallen in love with the Art Deco/Mission style atmosphere and even more so when the winter holidays have sprinkled their magic.
I finally saw and heard The Buena Vista Street Community Bell Ringers, Santa Claus in the Elias & Co Jewelry department got an earful from me and I could not stop wanting to sing and dance around to the beautifully decorated tree near Carthay Circle Theater. (The Nutcracker ballet still in my bones)
I kept hearing "You'll shoot your eye out!" in my head as I waited to see Santa. I feel I should tell Santa that I want a Red Ryder carbine-action, two hundred shot Range Model air rifle with a compass in the stock. I felt so out of place with my wardrobe. Everything is so polished and on que, the elves are sweet, helpful and what is even better - they give you a Candy Cane treat! I am ready to shop now with the Holiday Spirit in the air - Thank goodness I can have my purchases waiting for me at the entrance because I did some damage to the wallet. Now I must figure out where to hide the goodies from the family!
Just wait and see what Sarge's Surplus has to offer when I report form Cars Land - Route 66 here I come!
