For many, a stay at "The Grand" is only a dream waiting to come true. Follow me as I take you on the GRAND Tour!
Last month, my family and I had the magical opportunity to spend 3 nights at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa as attendees to the Disney Social Media Moms Conference. This "tour" will combine my most recent experience with past experiences at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
The Grand Floridian is a gorgeous, Victorian-styled hotel with turn-of-the-century charm. From the moment you enter the vast lobby, with its marble floors, elegant accents, extravagant floral arrangements, and stained glass, you take a step back in time. The red and white scalloped trim serve as a landmark for many, as the resort can be seen from many locations including the monorail.
Speaking of monorails, the Grand Floridian Resort is one of 3 Disney Resorts with monorail service. Just take the elevator to the 2nd floor station, hop on the monorail, and BAM... Next stop, Disney's Magic Kingdom.
The Grand Floridian is a Deluxe Category Hotel and serves as Disney's flagship resort. The resort opened in 1988 as Disney World's fifth resort accommodation. The resort is situated on 40 acres bordering the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon and is home to 900 elegantly appointed guest rooms.
A decadent Birthday surprise awaited us! |
The Grand Floridian's Beach is the ultimate relaxation venue boasting an incredible view of the Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon. Stop by the adjacent bar to grab a cocktail or fruity drink.
Not relaxed enough, Disney's Grand Floridian Resort is home to Nikki Bryan Spa, where the punchline is "Relaxed yet?" I was lucky enough to book spa treatments with my daughter and mother, and the services are some of the best I've ever experienced! The spa and fitness center is open to Grand Floridian guests and a multitude of spa and massage treatments are available by appointment.
Oh, The Dining is just GRAND...
Victoria & Albert's: An upscale dining experience in a AAA Five Diamond Awarded Restaurant. |
1900 Park Fare: A Whimsical Restaurant offering two unique character buffet dining experiences: Supercalafragalistic Breakfast and Cinderella's Happily Ever After Dinner |
Garden View Tea Room: An authentic English Afternoon Tea complete with finger sandwiches, scones, and trifle! |
Narcoossee's: One of my favorites! A Victorian-style seafood restaurant perched over the waters of the Seven Seas Lagoon! Boasts incredible views of the Magic Kingdom Fireworks as well as the Electrical Water Pageant! So as you can see, I had an absolutely GRAND time at the Grand! This resort truly offers something for everyone and I will be dreaming GRAND dreams until my return! Yes, a stay at the Grand would definitely fall into my "Splurge" category, but it's surely one to add to that Disney bucket list!
